Gone but not forgotten…

Death is the only thing in life that is a guarantee. Nobody can escape it. Very few are ever really ready to go. Last week was a hard one on a professional and personal level.

He was a young father. We had a great attorney/client bond. When he first came to hire me, he was going through some tough times. He presented me with a difficult challenge. Through hard work, we were able to find  a solution to his legal issue. Together we also worked on a plan to tackle his personal problem. He was well underway to meeting his goal, when unexpectedly he met death.

Learning of the death of a client is never easy for me. It is a feeling I can’t explain. Perhaps it is  because I am there to see and guide them through their legal gauntlets and adversity.  I meet their families and  we all become one big team going on the same journey. No matter what, no matter who, I always seem to feel some sense of responsibility for them even after they have their legal victories.

In this particular case, it almost feels surreal and unfair that after going through so much, he is gone and didn’t  get a chance to fully  enjoy his new lease in life.

May you rest in peace my friend.
